Your Site Gets Visitors.
You Have Wondered Why They Do Not Call
Some of them were ready to call you. Something on the page stopped them, and it is still there. They left without knowing why themselves, and that is the part no owner gets to see. The same few problems can sit on a page for years, costing you consultations and estimates, with nobody able to name them.
They can be found, but that is difficult for people who know their own page and are invested in it. Similar to a proofreader, Rick reads your page and shows you what is costing you most.

Two Things Decide
How Much Business Your Site Brings
Getting people to contact you is the focus of the work. RDM Consulting looks at one page of your site, the one that matters most to your business, and works on the single question of whether the people arriving on it get in touch with you. Not the whole site done all at once. Just the same page, month after month.
How many of the right people find your site, and how many of them contact you once they are there. Nothing else decides how much business it produces. RDM Consulting tunes both.
Most owners have only ever been sold the traffic. Plenty of people will tell you they do both. What follows is what to ask them, and what the answers tell you.
The other one is where the traffic comes in. The right people are brought to that page through paid advertising, built and managed alongside the work on the page itself. It is not a separate service, and it is not billed separately. It is also what makes the work readable, because without visitors arriving there is no way for either of us to see what a change on the page actually did.

Most Sites Have at Least One Problem
Here are a few examples of what a review exposes.
A headline that could sit on any competitor's site without changing a word.
A phone number that has to be written down instead of tapped.
A contact form with sixteen boxes to fill in when three would do.
A page that never says what happens after someone gets in touch.
Why Any of This Exists
I'm Rick Brown. RDM Consulting is mine, and so is every audit that leaves it.

The reason I do this work came from a client I could not help. A construction company running Google Ads brought in over 7,800 clicks in a single month and got zero leads. Not one. They were paying good money, the traffic was arriving, and nothing was happening. When they called and asked me why, I did not have an answer for them. That bothered me more than I can explain, so I went and found one.
For seven years I ran my own service business, window cleaning, awning cleaning and pressure washing. I know what it costs when the phone does not ring. I built this for people who run their own business, because I am one.

What You Would Be Agreeing To
There is more than one way to work together. Both arrangements are ongoing rather than a one time project, so the page is reviewed again every month and the work carries on from where the previous month left it.
The fee for what each arrangement provides is a flat monthly amount, and you can end it at any time, without a penalty of any kind.
What each arrangement costs is set out on the What It Costs page.
Questions You May Be Asking
Why can't my web designer do this?
Most web designers are good at what they do, and this is a different job. Even the best writers hand their work to a proofreader, because a man reading his own work sees what he meant to say rather than what is actually on the page. A designer is in exactly that position with a site he built himself. There is also the question of what he is paid for. He is paid to build and maintain, so anything he finds becomes work on his own desk. Rick did not build your site, does not maintain it, and does not make the changes, so nothing he finds turns into work he gets paid for.
What do I actually have to do?
Very little, and none of it is technical. You choose the page you want worked on. Each month you get a short list of the changes worth making, written so your own web person can act on it, and he makes them. That part is on your side, and is needed, because the page improves when the changes go in and it does not when they do not. Depending on the arrangement, Rick may also ask for a small amount of information about your site, which is explained before anything starts.
Do you need access to my website?
No. No login, no admin password, and nobody from here editing your site. Every change is made by your own web person, on your own site, and it stays yours whether the arrangement continues or not.
What if my site is already fine?
Then you should know that, and the free audit is how you find out. Rick reads the page and tells you what is there. If very little is wrong, he says so and there is nothing to buy. A page that holds up under a close read is worth knowing about, and it costs you nothing to find out either way.
How would I know it is working?
Every month the page is scored against the same set of rules, and you see that score. When changes go in, the score moves, and you can see which changes moved it. If a month is flat, you see that too, in the same report and in the same detail. Nothing gets buried.
Where does this come from?
From a long established body of behavioral research on how people form judgments about what they see in front of them. The finding that matters most here is that the judgment forms without the person being aware of it, so a visitor who leaves cannot tell you why, and would give you a different reason if you asked. The work also draws on an established framework for reviewing pages against that research. If you want the source, the clearest statement of it is Reber, Schwarz and Winkielman, 2004.
Start With the Free Read
Nothing here rests on believing a promise. People are already arriving on your page, some of them close to getting in touch, and what stops them is ordinary, specific and findable. The only question is whether anyone has ever looked.
The monthly work does not begin yet. What you would be asking for is smaller. You name the page you want read. What comes back is written down: what is hurting that page, how it scores, and which of it is worth dealing with first. It is not a quote and it is not a proposal.
